This looks great. Can we run some kind of "Give the gift of community/being informed to your friends and fam for the holidays" as well? And then send a little greeting card the week the first issue is mailed telling them merry cmas from whomever? I gave 3 or 4 subs after I first moved here but they never could figure out how to let folks know it was a gift.

I moved from DFW to Longview in 1990. I have worked with the public in a supermarket and in retail. I drive the streets of the area around Letourneau University to get to work at this time in my life. I see healthy robust black males who had free medical care and food stamps their whole lives, and, who had the opportunity to attend the same exact schools as the whites here. I watch these young men walking the streets with their pants down so low you can see their butt, and they are holding their penises. I see them walk the streets close to my neighborhood in groups acting like they are looking for trouble. What good has 'helping' these people done? The underlying character traits are still there. And, the only way they are better off is from welfare. I WATCH the young women have illitgitmate babies for the soul purpose of getting on welfare. They work as little as possible at a minimum wage job and have no desire to have a better life. I believe they have proven that their problems lie in their own behavior. Any attempt to address this with them results in cries of racism and mistreatment. They do NOT take responsibility for themselves and I refuse to take any blame or responsibility for them.
